Felice Willat co-founded Day Runner, Inc. in the 1980’s to meet the needs of an entire generation trying to cram as much as possible into a 24-hour day. The concept of time management became an integral part of her life, and the creation and development of the Day Runner personal organizer became the time management choice of millions for getting things done.

In 1995, Felice co-founded Tools With Heart, a company that pioneered another innovative product - The Woman’s Book of Changes – a comprehensive tabbed loose-leaf format interactive journal. The focus of this line of products was to help unlock emotional blocks, discover one’s beliefs, values and gifts and to live a purposeful life. Through her own use of these time management tools and journal writing processes, Felice has overcome her own emotional and financial ups and downs and was able to achieve a high level of success in her business and personal life.

After thirty years of juggling the rapid growth of a successful corporation, a family of five and a budding new business, Felice needed to find creative expression. The camera provided a sense of time expansion and stillness. She says, “I could capture a moment, something sacred or commonplace, an unconscious gesture, a tattered clothesline, a red plastic pitcher or a worn prayer book. I left the familiar, traveled to far-away places and found the gift of really being present.” Through her “still” photography, Felice captures the essence of people at one with their environments and lyrical native landscapes.

Felice has shown and sold her photography through exhibits and is an artist member of the Topanga Canyon Gallery. In December, 2008, she won an international photo contest – one of four chosen from 6,500 submissions; and in 2009, one of her Burma photographs was chosen for the exhibit, Man’s Inhumanity to Man at the Brand Library in Glendale, California. The photo entitled, Carrying the Weight is included in her new book, The Quiet Between, Song of Burma.

“She who would seek the treasure of the Indies must have the treasure of the Indies in her heart.”
